This year’s recipient for Gaudy Gala funds will be FANs. Friends and Neighbors of Ballston Spa is an all-volunteer group that hopes to provide opportunities for the families of our area with a focus on improving accessibility for a full spectrum of ages and abilities. Our goal is to build a new playground with a design that is safe and accessible for various ages and abilities. Our group values accessibility and parallel play situations in order to promote tolerance and “play for all” and desires to go beyond the minimum ADA requirements to do so. The nearest known wheelchair/therapeutic swing is in Glens Falls, NY some 25 miles away. As this is so, this playground will provide a public playground that will not only benefit Ballston Spa, but neighboring areas such as Greenfield, Saratoga and Wilton.
